Busted--in a good way!

Sometime ago my oldest son place a video on Facebook of your granddaughter eating brownies, the "funny part" was that as she sat there eating with chocolate all over her face she proceeded to tell her dad that she wasn't doing anything..... duh! Busted!

There are times that the "proof" is obvious to those around us. Such was the case with Ruth. As she came home from a day of gleaning is was obvious that something special happened that day.

Ruth 2:17-23
17 So she gleaned in the field until evening. Then she beat out what she had gleaned, and it was about an ephah of barley. 18 She took it up and went into the city, and her mother-in-law saw what she had gleaned. She also took it out and gave Naomi what she had left after she was satisfied. 19 Her mother-in-law then said to her, "Where did you glean today and where did you work? May he who took notice of you be blessed." So she told her mother-in-law with whom she had worked and said, "The name of the man with whom I worked today is Boaz." 20 Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, " May he be blessed of the Lord who has not withdrawn his kindness to the living and to the dead." Again Naomi said to her, "The man is our relative, he is one of our closest relatives." 21 Then Ruth the Moabitess said, " Furthermore, he said to me, 'You should stay close to my servants until they have finished all my harvest.'" 22 Naomi said to Ruth her daughter-in-law, "It is good, my daughter, that you go out with his maids, so that others do not fall upon you in another field." 23 So she stayed close by the maids of Boaz in order to glean until the end of the barley harvest and the wheat harvest. And she lived with her mother-in-law.NASU

To Naomi the signs were clear. She hadn't seen anything like it before but now she was seeing it. What you ask? She was seeing God work. Sadly, many today would say "she was lucky" or "what good fate", but the truth of the matter is God directed Ruth to the field of Boaz.

What are the things for which you would say God is "Busted" for what he has done in your life today?

Above & Beyond

Life can be hard. We all have had our moments when through the kindness of others we have been blessed. When we work hard and earn a paycheck that is nice but not really a "blessing". After all, you did do something to earn that paycheck. However, if you were out sick all week and still got a paycheck from your boss just to show he cared and wanted to help that is a blessing.

Ruth was out gathering grain as the law allowed. But Boaz blessed her by going beyond what the law allowed. He allowed her to eat with his workers and enjoy things she was not "entitled" to receive.

Ruth 2:14-16
14 At mealtime Boaz said to her, " Come here, that you may eat of the bread and dip your piece of bread in the vinegar." So she sat beside the reapers; and he served her roasted grain, and she ate and was satisfied and had some left. 15 When she rose to glean, Boaz commanded his servants, saying, "Let her glean even among the sheaves, and do not insult her. 16 "Also you shall purposely pull out for her some grain from the bundles and leave it that she may glean, and do not rebuke her."NASU

God desires to bless you as well. When you invite Jesus into your heart, you will receive eternal life. Not because you earned it, but simply because God chose to give you this free gift.

The second beauty of this blessing is it has no limit.. you can tell others where to go to receive the same blessing.

May you be blessed and bless others today.
