Yesterday I found myself reflecting on the events of September 11, 2001. I remember that day so clearly since I had returned to my hotel after a day of meetings in Singapore. There I watch CNN, the one station in English, and saw the events unfold. When the next morning arrived, I told my fellow co-worker of the events that had transpired to which they responded in disbelief. I was shocked that they refused to believe what I had told them. How could they not believe? It took the confirmation of the local paper before I could provide them to details that I saw the night before.
These events brings be back to today. How familiar this sounds. Today how many people will not believe what we read and know from the scripture. They want proof! What will they "read" to find that proof? My challenge to you today is to allow them to read your life. What better proof to the reality of Christ then the changed life of one who was a sinner.

I remember where I was that day, in business class. I am a slow reactor, it didn't sink in till much later that evening.
Good thoughts Dad. I didn't know you'd been to Singapore.
It's funny I remember where I was too, it'll be like one of those days like Pearl Harbor or when Kennedy was shot...
ray,
i was in Church Planting class at PBU. A straggler walked in about 10 minutes late and told the class. No one beleived him and none of us could have guessed the seriousness of the event at that early time.
That is another point to the analogy in life. First, as you observe, we couldnt believe without seeing ourselves. Second, even having accepted the truth of the event, we couldnt initially realize the full depth of the consequences of the truth.
If the Gospel is the unbelieveable truth, in your analogy, even after someone accepts the base truth of the Gospel, they take time with the Spirit and the Church to unpack all the immense consequences of following the Lord.
