What about People Who Never Heard?

Our family has taken a number of flights during our years of missionary service with Trans World Radio on Guam. On of the first things they do on every flight is give you instruction on what to do if a plane loses cabin pressure or some other emergency.

First things we were told was to take care of yourself. If you don’t "put on the mask" or "life jacket" you will not be able to save others. This truth applies to those who earn the gospel.

Here are a couple of principles we need to apply.

  • You have heard, worry about yourself first. In any emergency situation you need to make sure you are able to help. If you are injured and fail to get treatment you will not be able to help other.
  • Be more concern with those who have heard but not responded. Many people have heard and haven’t believed, they are in danger of punishment just as much as people have never heard the truth
  • Romans 1:19 tells us that God has made it plain to all (maybe not all the details but enough for them to respond to Him). They have heard!
  • Jesus said, Matt 24:14, "This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.

The goal in our life must be two fold. If you have heard the gospel and have fail to believe then you must face this truth and decide to believe.

If you have believed the gospel, receiving Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, then you MUST tell others. We have a obligation to tell those we meet and know.
