There are times in life when knowing the out come of a decision would be helpful to making the correct choice. However, we are not able to know with absolute certainty the outcome or future events. We must trust God who is the only one who understand the details that must be in place to understand the future. Recently I read John Piper where he stated, that the only way we can understand the Sovereignty of God is to look backwards. We waste to much time trying to understand what God is doing and to little time trusting Him knowing He is doing the right things in our life.
We can see here Paul explaining how God could know the future even as far back as in Abraham’s day.
Gal 3:6-9 Even so Abraham BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS RECKONED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS. 7Therefore, be sure that it is those who are of faith who are sons of Abraham. 8 The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, "ALL THE NATIONS WILL BE BLESSED IN YOU." 9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham, the believer. NASU
It was God who foresaw the future and revealed to Abraham that ALL the nations would be blessed in him.
I am afraid that we are all to quick to believe God when things are going well but when we go through difficult times we aren’t so quick to believe that God know what is best for us.
